Wendy Williams is a Cornish Artist. She has lived in Cornwall all of her life and has been living and working in Penzance for the last ten years. Wendy studied at Mid-Cornwall College and Falmouth School of Art in the 1980s and since then her life has followed an interesting and varied path, weaving its way through a mixture of creative arts and settling in fine art landscape and seascape painting.
Her exploration of the creative arts led to a versatile way of using a range of media and techniques in her representations of Cornwall. Always distinctive and constant through Wendy's work is her love and fascination with colour and light. Over many years of country and cliff walking, Wendy has absorbed the nature around her. Recording it not only in her memory but also in sketches and photographs, before reproducing her vision in her Lands End studio.
She had her first solo exhibition in April 2005 at the 'Dancing Fish' gallery in Marazion. Since this vibrant and mesmerising show called 'Shimmer' she has had great local success, and has opened her own gallery at Lands End. Wendy says; "I try to capture those moments when something beautiful steals you from your thoughts and totally transfixes you."
